About Albert

Classic magic. Unusual confidence.

Albert believes in the golden age of magic, audience participation, and being ready when opportunity finally notices him.

Magic chose Albert. He would like that on record.

The son of a magician — this has not been fully confirmed, but it has also not been denied, and Albert considers the distinction important — he grew up in Iowa knowing that performance was in his blood. He has spent his adult life proving it. He considers this the same thing as having proven it.

Albert came to magic the way serious artists come to any discipline: through dedicated study, careful preparation, and a willingness to put in the hours. He has consulted the literature. He has, on at least one occasion, spent the better part of an afternoon on a single trick. He owns significantly more props than he has performed with, which he prefers to think of as being well resourced.

His specialty is birthday-party magic for grown-ups: classic tricks, audience participation, oversized sincerity, and the kind of showmanship usually reserved for people who still need help cutting their cake.

He is not sure what else you need to know. He is a serious magician. He has been told this is not immediately obvious, which he finds baffling.

Albert is based in Los Angeles, which he feels is the right city for someone at his stage of career, by which he means the stage immediately before everything happens.

His dream is a show with his name on it. In lights. He is not picky about the wattage.
