Length
Twenty to thirty minutes as standard, made longer or shorter as needed.
A shared experience
A full show for everyone in the room at once.
Parlor sits between close-up and stage. Everyone gathers, the show has a beginning and an ending, and the magic still happens close enough that nobody is watching from across a room.
The show
Twenty to thirty minutes as standard, and it can be made longer or shorter to suit the room and the schedule. It's built as one piece rather than a run of unrelated tricks, so it goes somewhere by the end.
Most of what happens uses your guests. Their choices, their memories, their handwriting. The show is different every time, and the story they tell afterward is one they were in.
People stay involved throughout, and nobody gets humiliated. I don't need a volunteer to be the joke.
What to expect
A private home, an event space, a restaurant room, or a small theatre. Anywhere people can gather and see.
Twenty to thirty minutes as standard, made longer or shorter as needed.
Adults, gathered in one place for the length of the show.
A clear place to perform and room for everyone to see.
Best for
Parlor works when there's a natural point in the evening where people can stop, gather, and give it their attention. It tends to be the thing they're still arguing about on the way out.
Booking
Tell me the date, the room, and roughly how many people. If parlor isn't the right fit, I'll say so.
